The X Games Will Be in Minneapolis for 4 Days This August

Skateboarder

From Thursday, August 1st to Sunday, August 4, 2019, Minneapolis will be the site of the X Games. The event features various extreme sports showcases which exhibit the talents of the world’s best skateboarders, snowboarders, and other athletes, along with live music and other activities. The event is open to the public and typically draws large crowds of people who are excited to witness the games — and party for a long weekend.

Like any big event, there are some safety concerns in anticipation of the Minneapolis X Games. The X Games can involve a lot of spectators drinking heavily throughout the day. A highly intoxicated crowd may engage in some hazardous behavior while the extreme sports aficionados are in town, such as driving under the influence and participating in other criminal activity. Twin Cities locals should be extra cautious on the road during this time and be aware of the additional safety risks.

If you are planning on attending the Minneapolis X Games, remember to enjoy the event safely and drink responsibly if you plan on using alcohol. Of course, everyone makes mistakes, and the potential to make a very big mistake could be especially high during this August weekend.
