I came to Joe Tamburino and Hannah Martin in 2018 after I was in a severe accident. An old friend of mine got his semi-truck stuck on a dirty road. Me and a passerby attempted to use a skid steer to help him get the semi unstuck. The driver, who was intoxicated, didn’t realize I was behind the truck when he backed up and pinned my leg between the semi-truck and skid steer. When law enforcement arrived, my leg was dangling and deformed and I had to be airlifted from the scene to the hospital.
My life completely changed after this incident. I could no longer work my long-term job because it was too labor intensive. I was in constant pain and had to do extensive physical therapy. I hired Joe and Hannah thinking they could help me cover my medical bills and provide me some extra living money while I was healing and looking for new work.
At the beginning of our claim, the highest we could get the insurance company to agree to was $250,000. I considered accepting this. However, Joe and Hannah were confident I deserved more because of the future wage loss and permanent injury I suffered. I trusted them and we filed a formal lawsuit. The insurance company increased their offer to $300,000; and again, Joe and Hannah knew I deserved more. We were prepared to arbitrate my case when Joe and Hannah were able to secure $700,000 award the day before arbitration.
I never expected to come anywhere near that amount of money when I hired Caplan & Tamburino back in 2018. This settlement has completely changed my life. I appreciate Joe and Hannah’s tireless effort.
